Me. In the "bean"
Tired feet...
Oh my feet! And thank God I am in good shape!
Gosh, we walked for miles - and I mean MILES today.
But it was worth it...and tomorrow is yet another day - holding out for some more experiences and fun. Even if it is at the expense of my feet.
And I am not wearing my 5"ers either! LOL

You just cannot experience some things from a taxi.

We were having some fun and I have seen so many people who have photographed themselves or their kids in this huge bean-shaped piece. I just sat down and took a shot!
I could have stayed there for a very long time...

Chicago reflected

 We are not in 'BeanTown'
But who can resist taking shots while at this marvelous piece of art??
I know I could not. I plan to go out and get some shots of this at night - with all of the buildings reflecting with their lights.
There is something about the city all lit up.
And I know. It may be cliche to photograph this staple in the city but...so be it.
By the end of today I had more than 350 photos in all of my cameras!
(and I unload every night)

View from the Signature Lounge on the 96th
A Nice Ending...
A quick ride up to the 96th floor and you are in for a treat!
It was a nice ending to a long day. Just sitting there watching the sun go down with something small to eat and a drink to wash down the thirst...the view was amazing.
With all of the shopping in this town, remarkably? I am not interested in doing that. Almost at all.
There is way too much else to do!

I made my husband sort of angry because he wanted to go into Tiffany's and buy me something. He had been planning it for weeks apparently.
I told him I wanted no part of that. Wasn't interested.
But that is who I am. Not really caring about fancy names or even jewelry too much anymore. I find it tacky when people talk about what they have or have bought or that they won't wear anything but "this" name...and so on. YAWN.
I told him - the memories of everything else we are doing here are more than enough. And we have only just started.
Call me crazy...

  1. You go girl!!! You are getting me so excited for our photowalk through the same area next month. I've been there before, but never with the goal of getting pics. Lucky for me, my husband does almost all of the shooting.

  2. I so agree with you: memories are more important than wasting time in stores though I have to say that I am thrilled having bought a scarf in Paris or a handbag in London....it's par for the course....We all have our dreams and own ideas of how to remember and keep memories. And yes, definitely no talk of labels. Tacky...So glad you experienced the bean and I love those photos.
